For the first time since Partition, the BJP youth wing is setting up units-in-exile for Pakistan Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK) and China Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (COJK) to kick off a world-wide campaign for reclaiming the occupied parts from the neighboring countries.
Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Jammu and Kashmir is formally announcing the organisational changes after the national executive meeting slated to be held after the assembly polls for the five states.
The units will be headed by the people who had migrated from POJK and COJK after 1947 and 1962 wars respectively. BJYM has already submitted the list of the probable to the party high command for their approval. The main aim of the new units would be to launch a formal campaign for the united Jammu and Kashmir which existed before 1947.
“A resolution was passed unanimously in parliament in 1994 which states that POJK and COJK are the integral parts of India. Currently, the J&K has 22 districts but there are 21 districts which are under the occupation of Pakistan and China. So it is our duty to work for the united Jammu and Kashmir,” Ravinder Raina, president of BJYM, J&K, told dna. Pakistan is currently occupying 85,793 square kilometers of J&K. It includes 13,297 square kilometers of Occupied Kashmir and 72496 square kilometers of Northern Areas comprising Gilgit and Baltistan.
China had illegally occupied approximately 38,000 square kilometers of Indian Territory. In addition, Pakistan illegally ceded 5,180 square kilometer of Indian Territory in the Shaksgam Valley of POK (north-west of the Siachen Glacier) to China in 1962.
