1) Ahead of festival rush, Central Railways to run special superfast AC trains: Central Railways has announced 28 air-conditioned superfast bi-weekly special trains between Manmad and Hazrat Nizamuddin to clear the extra rush of passengers during festival rush. Between October 13 and November 27, Navratri, Durga Puja and Diwali will be celebrated amongst other festivals.

2) Former Indian cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu in hospital: Former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu has been admitted to Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals in Delhi on Tuesday evening with a clot in one of his deep veins, says an Indian Express report. Sidhu is reportedly suffering from a condition called acute deep vein thrombosis (DVT).

4) BJP leader says he fabricated rape charges against Muslim boys: Suresh Rana said: “Now I will tell you the truth. We charged them with rape, but it wasn’t rape, it was consensual. We slapped a rape case against them to teach them a lesson." 

5) Delhi MLAs salaries hiked by 400%: An independent panel has recommended a hike in the salary of the MLAs of Delhi. The panel has recommended that the MLAs' salary should be increased to Rs. 50,000 from the current Rs. 12,000 and Rs. 70,000 for assistance. It has also recommended for a conveyance hike from Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 30,000.
