1) Uri sector: Army kills 10 terrorists in an encounter during infiltration bid

10 terrorists were killed by the army on Tuesday in Lachipura area of Jammu and Kashmir's Uri sector when Pakistani troops violated cease fire along the Line of Control. This incident comes two days after the attack at the army headquarters in Uri.

The attack comes amid reports that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the green signal to diplomatically isolate Pakistan at every international grouping. After the attack, the army said that it reserved the right to respond at a time and place of its choosing even as various options were discussed in a flurry of high-level meetings. 2) Cauvery dispute: SC directs Karnataka to release 6000 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu daily till September 27​

The Supreme Court on Tuesday asked Karnataka to release 6,000 cusecs of water from the Cauvery river daily from September 21 till September 27.

Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara has issued guidelines to the Police, directing them to take precautionary measures. He has also directed the police to keep ready fire engines and required emergency forces at sensitive areas around the Cauvery belt including Bengaluru. In a shocking incident, a 21-year-old girl was stabbed to death by the alleged stalker in North Delhi on Tuesday morning. According to reports, Karuna, a teacher at the Novel Reaches School, was stabbed 30 times. The victim was rushed to the hospital in a critical state where she succumbed to her injuries. Read more...

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday put up a brave face saying 'Samajwadi Pariwar' is united to face all challenges. 

"Samajwadi Pariwar is as united as it was before and, in days to come, the challenges before the state and the government, as communal forces (which) want to make an entry somehow, will be faced unitedly," the Chief Minister said, a day after his uncle Shivpal, with whom he was locked in a turf war, expelled seven party functionaries, including three MLCs, considered close to him.
