Prime Minister Narendra Modi's spiritual guru Swami Dayanand Giri passed away on Wednesday at his ashram in Sheeshamjhadi area here after a prolonged illness. He was 87.

3. Hardik Patel surfaces, to be present in Gujarat High Court today: Lawyer


Patel quota agitation leader Hardik Patel, who went missing on Tuesday night and alleged he was abducted by some unknown persons, will go to Gujarat High Court on Thursday morning, his lawyer said.

After Hardik went missing from Aravali district on Tuesday, his aides moved a habeas corpus plea through his lawyer, BM Mangukiya, in Gujarat High Court alleging that police had illegally detained him. Read More 


4. RBI to allow companies to approach pension, insurance funds for ECB


In order to encourage overseas funding, RBI on Wednesday proposed to allow domestic companies to borrow money from pension funds, sovereign wealth funds (SWFs) and insurance funds as part of the ECBs.

The draft framework on External Commercial Borrowings (ECBs), however, proposed to lower the all-in cost borrowing by 0.50% to ensure that the funds are borrowed from abroad at a reasonable interest rate. Read More

Mahendra Singh Dhoni's Charitable Foundation received 20000 pound out of the 300,000 raised during the inaugural T20 fundraiser, 'Cricket for Heroes' held at The KIA Oval last week.

India's limited-overs captain Dhoni smashed the winning runs for his side Heroes XI in the inaugural T20 match fundraiser against Rest of the World XI.
