1. Ayodhya dispute: Babri action panel rejects out-of-court settlement; minister says govt favours talks

Union Minister PP Chaudhary on Tuesday said the government too favours talks to resolve the Ayodhya dispute after the apex court suggested that such "sensitive" religious issues could be settled through negotiations. Chaudhary's remarks came after the Supreme Court said fresh attempts must be made by all parties concerned to find a solution to the Ayodhya temple dispute which is a "sensitive" and "sentimental matter". On Tuesday, new Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who is also Gorakhpur MP addressed the Lok Sabha. He thanked Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for breathing new life into the country’s economy. He added that the government has worked for all sections of society without any discrimination, and claimed that in the past the state didn’t utilise funds allocated by the central government. 4. Missing JNU student Najeeb Ahmed 'Googled' ways to join Islamic State: Report​

In a new twist to the missing JNU student Najeeb Ahmed’s case, a report has said that he had looked up for information related to the Islamic State (IS) on the Internet, months before his disappearance.

Najeeb (27), a student of School of Biotechnology and a native of Badaun in Uttar Pradesh, went missing on October 15 following an on-campus scuffle allegedly with the members of ABVP. Read more here

5. Why no new window to deposit demonetized notes after December 30: SC asks govt, RBI

While the Centre and the RBI had said it would not allow the deposit of the now-demonetized Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes, there was a window for NRIs who had failed to deposit the notes by the deadline. They could do so at RBI designated centres to avoid questioning or inquiries. Read more here
