DMRC hikes metro hike fare, new prices effective from Wednesday

The last time the fares were hiked was in 2009.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Monday approved the rise in the metro fare , reports TOI. The new fares will be effective from Wednesday onwards.  The minimum fare will now be Rs 10 instead of Rs 8 and the maximum fare will be Rs 50 than Rs 30.

The fare as per the distance travelled is as follows: 0-2 km Rs 10, 2-5 km Rs 15, 5-12 km Rs 20, 12-21 km Rs 30, 21-32 km Rs 40 and more than 32 km Rs 50. The last time the fares were revised was in 2009. The minimum fare was raised from Rs 6 to Rs 8 and maximum fare from Rs 22 to Rs 30.
