DMDK Chief Vijayakanth protests against Tamil Nadu's Global Investors' Meet

Investment of over Rs. 1 lakh crore was committed for Tamil Nadu at the maiden Global Investors Meet that began in Chennai on Wednesday.

While Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was wooing investors in Chennai at the Global Investors' Meet, DMDK Chief Vijayakanth addressed a public meeting in Madurai to protest the meet. Vijayakanth stated that drinking water and power shortage in the state were more important issues that needed to be addressed.

The DMDK leader also accused the state government of violating Supreme Court guidelines in the Global Investors' Meet ads. 

Premalatha Vijakayanth also spoke at the meeting and criticised DMK and AIADMK. She alleged that both were responsible for corruption in Tamil Nadu. She added that people in the state were not looking for freebies but wanted health care and free education.

Investment of over Rs. 1 lakh crore was committed for Tamil Nadu at the maiden Global Investors Meet that began in Chennai on Wednesday. The two-day meet is being attended by 5,000 delegates, including 1,000 from abroad.
