The Patiala House Court in New Delhi on Monday granted bail to Vikramaditya Singh, the son of former Himachal Pradesh Chief minister Virbhadra Singh in connection with a disproportionate assets case.

Vikramaditya Singh was granted bail on a personal bail bond of Rs 50,000, news agency ANI reported.

The court has fixed September 19 as the next date for hearing.

In 2015, CBI registered a disproportionate assets case against Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and carried out raids at 11 places in the state, including at his residence in Shimla, and in Delhi.

Last month, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday filed a supplementary chargesheet against his son Vikramaditya.

The agency is probing allegations against Singh and his family of having amassed wealth of Rs 6.1 crore, disproportionate to his known sources of income between 2009 and 2011 when he was the Union minister of steel. It has also attached assets worth about Rs 14 crore in this case under the PMLA.

The ED in September 2015 had lodged the case against the former chief minister and others under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) after taking cognisance of a criminal complaint filed by the CBI.
