Director should speak to us before filming Delhi gang-rape incident, says family

Brother of the victim said that before making changes in the film to highlight the incident, the director should meet the family and give them information about the storyline.

Amid reports that Telugu filmmaker Ramana Gaddam planning to make changes in his upcoming drama Nisha to highlight the brutal gang-rape, brother of the 23-year-old girl said that before doing so he should meet the family and give information about the storyline.

He said the director would have to clarify what he wants to portray in the movie.

Gaddam had earlier said that he would recreate the horrific story in his forthcoming Telugu drama Nisha. The idea, he says, is to send out a strong message to the government and public.

"I'm not trying to cash in on the sensitivity of this issue but bring to light a barbaric act that shook our nation. I want to send a strong message through my film that such acts can't be taken lightly and the perpetrators should be punished severely," Gaddam had said.

The film, though not based solely on the Delhi incident in which a 23-year-old was brutally gang-raped and who died, has other commercial elements to make it an interesting watch.
