Dineshwar Sharma appointed as J&K talks interlocutor, Congress calls it failure
The Narendra Modi on Monday appointed former Intelligence Bureau Chief Dineshwar Sharma as the interlocutor for the Jammu and Kahsmir peace talks. The dialogue bid comes nine weeks after PM Modi's Red Fort speech on Independence Day where he said that 'Kashmir's problem can be solved only by embracing its people, not with goli (bullets) or gaali (abuses).' However, the Opposition has called it a failure of government's 'muscular approach'. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's poll campaign on Monday sparked a war of words, some of them inspired by the Bollywood, with the BJP — between Gujarat to Delhi. Addressing a rally in Gandhinagar, Rahul said, "Do Hazar Satrah, BJP Ko Khatra (2017 is dangerous for BJP)." He also said GST was like "Gabbar Singh Tax". Ashok Gehlot says IB searched Gujarat hotel where he met Hardik Patel

Hitting out at the BJP government, Congress leader Ashok Gehlot has claimed that the Intelligence Bureau and the Gujarat Police searched the hotel rooms after he met with Patidar leader Hardik Patel and Dalit leader Jignesh Mevani. DNA Exclusive: Maharashtra government opposes GST in real estate
The government of Maharashtra has opposed the inclusion of real estate in Goods and Services Tax and does not want any decision in this matter to be taken in a hurry. The government has argued that a decision should be taken at the GST Council after an in-depth study and after weighing its impact on state finances. State Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar told DNA he had sent a letter to the Centre on this. At present, the GST rate on under construction real estate projects stands at 18 per cent. No Vishakha panel, Bombay High Court fines Vodafone
In a significant order, the Bombay High Court has asked telecom company Vodafone-Essar Limited, which is now Vodafone, to deposit an amount of Rs 50,000 with the War Widow's Association, New Delhi, for its failure to constitute a Complaints Committee as per Vishakha guidelines to look into a complaint of sexual harassment at workplace in the year 2000, when a former employee raised the issue.  Read full story here
