Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday commented on the recent surgical strikes conducted in PoK by the Indian government by saying that he still believes that dialogue between India and Pakistan is the best way to sort things out.

"BJP makes up new words. What is surgical? War is a war, the villagers don't understand 'surgical'. It's good that Indian army conducted surgical strike, but we still believe that dialogue is the best way to sort things out," said Akhilesh.

He also hit out at the Centre and said that the Samajwadi Party govt has provided more job opportunities than anyone else.

"No government has given as many job opportunities as we have. BJP promised 'acche din', but who has benefited from that? They will be judged by what they have delivered," said Akhilesh.

Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Thursday heaped praise on the Indian Army, saying they carried out a '100 percent perfect surgical strike' on the seven terror launch pads across the Line of Control (LoC). "We carried out a 100 percent perfect surgical strike. Our nation carries the heart and courage to carry this task out. There are many people who are not loyal to our country and criticised the Indian Army, but we don't have to give them any proof," Parrikar said.

"Some ex-servicemen wrote to me and said that they are ready to fight on the border if need arises. I salute them," he added.
