Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati launched a direct offensive against the BJP and Samajwadi Party on Friday but kept Congress out of the firing line, thus hinting that she may not have closed her options to engage with it before UP elections.

"BJP and SP are fighting and vying for a distant second spot. BJP knows that it will be wiped out because of demonetization that has made the life hell for 90% of people. The move will surely send BJP into exile (Vanvas) SP does not stand a chance as it is still engaged in family feud. Congress is on Oxygen and nowhere in the race,"said the former chief minister, who herself was embroiled in several cases of disproportionate assets and corruption.

Congress and BSP sources, however, said small window of alliance is still open and back channel talks are on between the two parties.

Rebutting BJP top brass claim that demonetization has hit BSP the most, Mayawati alleged the ruling party settled its black money days before announcing demonetization and said the "half baked and immature" move of Prime Minister Modi will hurt it badly not only in Uttar Pradesh but the other four other states as well where elections are due.

She claimed PM Modi took the decision in a hurry because of political interests. Alleging that BJP is number one in corruption, Mayawati said BSP is the only party in the country which has no ill-gotten money.

She said when PM Modi himself said that demonetization took 10 months of secret preparations, then let there be an inquiry to find out how much money came to all the political parties during these 10 months.

Claiming that people's patience is fast running out, Mayawati alleged there are fears that BJP-ruled States may unleash repression to quell building up unrest among people.

Trying to en-cash apprehensions among Muslims, Mayawati cautioned them not to waste their vote either on Congress or on SP, whose own vote would get divided between the two factions.
