A 23-year old woman working for Snapdeal has been allegedly abducted in an autorickshaw when she was returning from her office on Wednesday night, reports The Hindustan Times.

Dipti Sarna, who works as an IT Professional at Snapdeal had used the metro, her usual commute from her office in Gurgaon to Vaishali. After that, as part of her routine commute, she took an auto to the bus-stand in Ghaziabad from where her family members pick her up.

However, yesterday, while she was speaking to her family on her mobile phone while travelling in the autorickshaw, they heard her yelling at the driver for taking a wrong route. “On the night of incident, she was speaking to her family on her mobile phone and her parents heard her shouting at the auto driver about taking a wrong route. Later, her mobile got switched off," a police officer said.

The family approached the police.

The police has since launched a massive search and registered an FIR for abduction at Sihani Gate police station.

Snapdeal spokesperson has said that they came to know about the incident from media reports. “We are extremely disturbed with the reported abduction of our team member. Her security and safety is our topmost priority. We are doing everything to support and work with the authorities in their investigation. The entire Snapdeal family is united in their support and prayer for her safe return,”  said a Snapdeal spokesperson.

"We are investigating further with the help of several teams and it seems to be a case of abduction,” said Salman Taj, superintendent of police (city).

Taj said that her last location was found to be at Morti village near Raj Nagar Extension according to electronic surveillance.

He also said that they have scanned the spot and found tyre marks and witnesses who saw the autorickshaw.
