Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Tuesday accused certain parties of playing communal and caste-based politics in Delhi assembly elections and said they will be given an "appropriate reply" by the electorate on February 7, the day of polling. Naqvi claimed that eight months of Narendra Modi government had managed to "dispel the fear" among certain communities and said the government was focused on ensuring inclusive development.

"People of Delhi have become mature and now they can't be diverted from the real issues of development...And, forces doing politics on caste and communal cards will be defeated, campaigners of communalism will fail," Naqvi said.

The Union Minister for Minority Affairs was speaking at an election rally in Seelampuri constituency in north-east Delhi. He appealed to people to vote for BJP candidate Sanjay Jain who is pitted against Congress' Chaudhary Mateen Ahmed.

Ahmed is a five-time MLA from the Muslim-dominated area which is considered a Congress stronghold.

"We want inclusive growth...And people will ensure that divisive forces, which seek to destroy the harmony of the country will not come to power," Naqvi said.

Taking a dig at both Congress and AAP, Naqvi said "Kejri (Kejriwal) and Congress are made for each other." Attacking AAP, he claimed that "Kejriwal is now doing drama..they are the biggest enemy of development and good governance."

He further said "since the Modi government came to power, power brokers in Delhi's power corridors have vanished...And, if any other party comes to power, even by mistake, it will give space to power brokers."

Exuding confidence of BJP's victory he said "we (BJP) won in Haryana, Maharashtra and in Jharkhand on the basis of our development agenda.

"AAP is full of lies and false promises. They misled people. AAP and Congress are made for each other. This time also, they are jointly fighting not to allow formation of a stable government," he alleged.
