Delhi Police to donate one day's salary to Subhash Tomar's family

Delhi Police, which has described the death of constable Subhash Tomar to be extremely tragic, has decided that all personnel will donate one day's salary to his family as a mark of respect.

Delhi Police, which has described the death of constable Subhash Tomar to be extremely tragic, has decided that all personnel will donate one day's salary to his family as a mark of respect.

"Delhi Police family and our Commissioner stand with his family and all compensation and other things as admissible will be granted to him. And his cremation will be done with full police honours," said Delhi Police PRO Rajan Bhagat.

"Constable Subhash Tomar, 45-year-old, posted at PS Karawal Nagar was deployed on law and order duties on Sunday in New Delhi district succumb to his injuries which he suffered during the violence created by protestors. The Delhi Police family stand with his family and we are deeply in sorrow. We appeal to the public not to indulge in violence during the protests," he added.

Tomar, who suffered serious injuries during violent protests at India Gate on Sunday, died today after battling for life at the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital here.

Tomar, who was on ventilator since his admission at the Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital on Sunday evening, was declared dead at 6: 40 a.m.

Tomar was a graduate from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh.
