Zuber Ahmed Khan, a 48-year-old man who wanted to join the Islamic State was nabbed by the Delhi police on Friday. The Mumbai police were on the lookout for him after he had shared some controversial posts on social media. After the execution of 1993 Bombay blasts convict Yakub Memon, Zuber had expressed a desire to join the Islamic State.

The man has been put in detention after he reportedly went to the Iraq Embassy and gave them his CV so they could forward it to ISIS! Zuber claimed that he wanted to become a spokesperson for the extremist organisation.

The man had two Masters degrees, one in Mass Communication and another in Public Administration and his wife is a teacher. Before 2007, he used to work in the administration department of a hospital and was later made the hospital owner's secretary. In 2007, he grew a beard and became overtly jealous, after which he was asked to leave the hospital. Since then, he has reportedly tried to approach media organisations for jobs but has been rebuffed and remained unemployed.

Zuber came to Delhi a few days ago and went to the Press Council office, asking for a certificate as a journalist, which he believed would help him become a spokesperson in Iraq. After that, he went to the Iraq Embassy, who then intimated the Vasant Vihar police.

Earlier, Khan had written an open letter to ISIS chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, expressing his desire to become the official spokesperson of the group. He also had claimed that he had done research on the various 'atrocities' carried out by the government, police and Hindu terrorists.

In his social media posts, he had claimed that Yakub Memon was innocent and accused the judiciary of being biased.
