Delhi Police head constable booked for raping relative

A 30-year-old woman has accused a Delhi Police head constable, who happens to be her relative, of raping her in outer Delhi's Alipur area, police said on Thursday.

The accused, Devi Singh, currently posted in the disaster team of Rohini police station is absconding after the woman lodged a police complaint last evening, police said.

According to police, the 30-year-old woman has alleged that Singh had force himself upon her many times, threatening her of serious consequences if she revealed her ordeal to anyone.

Both the complainant and the accused were staying in immediate vicinity and were frequently visiting each other's residences, said a police official.

The complainant has alleged that the cop used to threaten her upon non-compliance with his demands.

She has accused that Singh had come to her house again yesterday and tried to rape her after which she decided to inform her family members about his conduct.

A complaint was registered by the family, following which a rape case was lodged against him at Alipur police station.

Both the complainant and the accused hail from Uttar Pradesh.
