The recommendations of a committee constituted by the Delhi Assembly Speaker to allow a whopping two-and-half fold increase in the salaries of Delhi MLAs, were panned by the BJP and Congress who accused the AAP government of being "khaas aadmi ki sarkar". Not only that the Twitterati was up in arms against Kejriwal who had taunted politicians during the Jan Lokpal bill movement that they readily accept a pay hike but have difficulty in agreeing to the Lokpal bill.

No consensus amongst political parties on Lokpal in 44 years. If they have to increase their salaries, there is consensus in 5 min.

He founded the Aam Aadmi Party in the end of 2012. While Kejriwal has not reacted to the recommendations, AAP senior party member reacted on Twitter.
For an honest MLA of any party,it's impossible to sustain family/run constituency office in meagre salary.Dishonest don't need salary.

The three-member committee chaired by former Secretary General of Lok Sabha PDT Achary, in its report submitted to Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel, has favored a 400 per cent hike in basic salary of MLAs from Rs 12,000 to Rs 50,000 per month. Overall, the hike recommended has been 138 per cent. In July, a group of AAP legislators had demanded a significant hike in salary, arguing their earnings were not enough to run their family and offices.
