Delhi hit-and-run case: Police arrest driver of Mercedes that killed 17-year-old boy

The offending vehicle has also been seized.

The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested the driver of the Mercedes car which claimed the life of a 17-year-old boy on Sunday night in Mianwali area.

Savneet Singh, 27, resident of Meerabagh area near Jail road was arrested from Rajouri Garden area late on Tuesday night. 

According to the police, Singh, a businessman, was driving to a popular food joint with his friend when the accident took place. He told the police that when they neared the GH9 DDA market area, they were unable to control the speed of the car and rammed into a Scooty, killing a teenager.

The police is trying to ascertain if the duo had consumed alcohol. Singh's friend has been asked to join the investigation as well. 

Atul Arora (17) lost his life after the Mercedes car rammed into the Scooty which flung him around 15ft in the air and the car dragged him for almost 150 metres.
