A fortnight before Haryana goes for assembly election, trouble spells for its former chief minister Om Prakash Chautala. Delhi High Court sought the response of CBI and former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala on a plea for directions to the politician to immediately surrender.

Chautala, who was given bail on medical grounds, has been sentenced for 10 years in teachers' recruitment scam.

A Gurgaon based lawyer Hemant Sharma moved court saying Chautala attended a rally in Haryana's Jind town on September 25, while on bail without court's permission.

A division bench headed by Justice B D Ahmed issued notice to Chautala and CBI on plea complaining that Chautala, who has been out on bail, had obtained bail on health ground but started campaigning for the upcoming election without court's permission.

"His bail was canceled for campaigning in Jind last month. Why has the CBI not informed us regarding this," the bench said posting the matter for further hearing on October 9.
