A plea by an administrative officer of St Stephen's College here challenging his suspension and accusing the institute's principal of trying to convert him to Christianity was on Wednesday transferred to another bench of the Delhi High Court.

The petition, which was listed before Justice Hima Kohli, was transferred to another bench as she recused herself from hearing the matter since she was a student of St Stephen's. Subha Kumar Dash moved the court alleging that he was suspended and barred from entering the institute's campus without the approval of the governing body of the college.

He also sought an injunction against any action by the governing body. St Stephen's Principal Valson Thampu has denied the allegations.

According to sources, the suspension order was issued on December 10 for allegedly sending derogatory and defamatory SMSes to the administration and to the college community.
