Delhi government will fulfill women's security promises: Somnath Bharti

 Condemning the alleged gang rape of a Nigerian woman in the national capital, Aam Aadmi Party leader Somnath Bharti on Saturday said the Delhi government will fulfill the promises it made about women's security. "The incident is condemnable and heinous. Our promises made for women security shall be fulfilled. An environment needs to be developed where women are respected," Bharti told ANI here.

A 35-year-old Nigerian woman was allegedly raped in a moving car in Delhi on Friday. Four people have been reportedly apprehended in connection with the case. As per reports, the woman was found unconscious by the DND toll plaza staff near Mayur Vihar late last night, who took her for a medical check up.

The accused men reportedly picked up the woman, who is in India on a tourist visa, from outside a mall in south Delhi. The police have also confiscated the vehicle in which the crime allegedly took place.
