Delhi Police on Monday confirmed that they have finalised the chargesheet related to the December 16 gang rape of a 23-year-old woman who had died 13 days later in Singapore's Mount Elizabeth Hospital.

According to the 1000-page chargesheet, the sequence of events, the treatment, shifting of the patient to a Singapore hospital as well as her death, have all been mentioned.

A senior police official said the chargesheet, which is being vetted by legal experts, has cited 30 witnesses in connection with the December 16 incident in which the medical physiotherapy student was gang-raped and brutally assaulted in a moving bus in south Delhi.

Investigators have said that they will seek the death penalty for the six accused in the case.

The incident has evoked widespread outrage and anger and triggered violent protests.

The charge sheet, to be filed in the Saket court, will detail the role of five men while mentioning that a separate report would be sent to Juvenile Justice Board for the trial of the minor boy allegedly involved in the case, the official said.

Police have slapped rape, murder and other charges against the accused.
