The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday condemned the brutal murder of a 40-year-old dentist in Vikaspuri area of West Delhi and requested Police Commissioner Alok Kumar to take due cognisance of the case and ensure the law and order situation in the national capital is not disturbed.

AAP spokesperson Ashutosh told ANI that the law and order situation in Delhi had gone for a toss as the previous police commissioner BS Bassi was not interested in improving the law and order situation.

"It is a very dangerous phenomena in Delhi, that's why the Aam Aadmi Party was expecting that ever since the new Delhi Police Commissioner has taken over the law and order situation Delhi will improve because when Mr. Bassi was the Police Commissioner his interest was vested in politics he was not interested in improving in law and order situation," he said.

"If such incidents occur then it raises questions in minds of people and I hope the Police Commissioner will take a note of it and should see to it that police now onwards will improve the law and order situation, if they don't they will fail in their duties," he added.

The incident took place at around 12.00 a.m. on Thursday when the dentist, who has been identified as Pankaj Narang, was playing cricket with his son.

"He was playing cricket with his son at around 12 in the night when a motor-cycle passed by. While playing in the balcony of their house, the ball went outside and his son went to bring back the ball. A motorcycle then passed off speedily to which his father objected and tried to the stop the rider. The whole incident then took shape of a heated argument," Pushpendra Kumar (DCP, West) told the media.

Following the fight, the rider called his friends from nearby J.J Camp and dragged the dentist from his home and beat him mercilessly with wooden sticks and bricks. The dentist suffered serious injuries on his head and eventually succumbed to them in the hospital.
