The medical examination of Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash has confirmed injuries on and near his face. Prakash has alleged that he was assaulted by AAP legislators Prakash Jarwal and Amanatullah Khan, and others during a meeting at the Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's residence on Monday night.

His medical examination was conducted by the doctors at Aruna Asaf Ali Hospital. Doctors at the hospital confirmed bruises and swelling on and near his face.

“Tenderness and mild swelling behind both ears, bruise over lower lip right side and swelling over cheekbone,” sources said.

Both the MLAs accused of assaulting the Chief Secretary have been arrested by the Delhi Police.

While Jarwal was arrested last night for questioning, Khan surrendered before the police on Wednesday.

In a letter to DCP North, the chief secretary alleged that the AAP MLAs abused him at Kejriwal's residence and also threatened him to file false cases against him including under the SC/ST Act.

"Amanatullah Khan, without any provocation from my side, started hitting and assaulting me and hit several blows with fists on my head and temple," the bureaucrat said.

"My spectacles fell on the ground. I was in a state of shock. With difficulty I was able to leave the room and get into my official car and leave chief minister's residence," he said.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has denied the allegations claiming that there are no of assault.

"We are being hounded. Delhi Chief Secretary says he was beaten by AAP MLAs. There is no proof that he was beaten," senior AAP leader and Rajya Sabha MP said.

The ruling party has alleged that "a number of false allegations have been levelled against the party leaders."

Earlier, Jarwal and Ajay Dutt, AAP MLAs from Deoli and Ambedkar Nagar respectively, had claimed the bureaucrat made casteist remarks. They have lodged a complaint against him with the Delhi Police and the National Commission for Scheduled Castes.

AAP Delhi unit's chief spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj claimed that Jarwal was "arrested" based on a "frivolous" complaint.

"MLA Prakash Jarwal was the complainant and now he is under arrest. Every single day there is an attempt by the BJP government to dismiss and destroy AAP," he said.

"Delhi Police arrested elected MLA without any evidence. What about the arrest of IAS Officers who can be seen beating Minister in Secretariate? There is FIR by Minister as well as video evidence, but no arrests," Bharadwaj tweeted.

Utter chaos unfolded inside the Delhi Secretariat this morning as Delhi Environment Minister Imran Hussain was mobbed by officials and staff, hours after Prakash was allegedly manhandled at the chief minister's residence.
