The Delhi BJP President Satish Upadhyay on Monday wrote a letter to Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung asking him investigate media reports alleging that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had tried to set up a spy agency after coming to power in 2015.

In his letter, Upadhyay has demanded that L-G Jung to order an inquiry in the matter and put before the people of Delhi the proposal which Kejriwal government had prepared in this context.

"Delhi already has an efficient police force and other intelligence agencies and therefore it appears that Kejriwal wanted this new agency for keeping a tab on political opponents. It is really sad that Arvind Kejriwal government is not able to accept any political opposition," said Upadhyay.

Delhi Government officials said the unit was never set up and it remained a decision. They also called the news reports about the unit's formation as totally baseless.
