Delhi: At least six dead after building collapse in Moti Nagar

At least, six people including a child died after a blast inside an illegal factory occurred on Thursday night. Police officials stated that many are fear trapped inside the building.

At least, six people including a child died after a blast inside an illegal factory occurred on Thursday night. Police officials stated that many are fear trapped inside the building. 

According to fire department a call regarding a blast and collapse was received around 8:40pm. Four fire tenders were initially rushed to the location and looking at more people being trapped more were sent.

The rescue operations were underway until the filing of this report. The collapse occurred at D-96, Sudarshan park in West Delhi’s Moti Nagar area. The factory of fan blade painting was running on ground floor as well as the first floor of the building. Around 14 people were working at the factory. Police moved eight bodies to the hospital out of which six persons including a child were declared dead at Acharya Bhikshu Hospital and two other identified as Manju and Ashok have sustained injuries. 

 

Around 7-8 more people are stuck inside, and rescue operations are underway to rescue them. Police, Fire and disaster teams are on spot.
