In a shocking incident, an injured man remained unattended for 12 hours on roadside after he was hit by an unidentified speeding car in Delhi's Civil Lines area on Tuesday.

However, this is not even the worst part. The onlookers, instead of helping the victim, stole the injured man's phone, his bag of clothes and the only Rs 12 cash he had left in his pocket, according to a report in Hindustan Times.

Despite severe injuries to his neck, legs and spinal cord, the 35-year-old Narendra Kumar survived the mishap and is currently undergoing treatment at Safdarjung Hospital.

Narendra, who had arrived from Jaipur and was waiting for a bus near Kashmere Gate bus terminal was hit by an over speeding car. The victim works as a driver and hails from Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor.

“I was flung on the footpath because of the hit by the car. Unable to move because of the injuries, I lay on the roadside through the night,” Kumar said.

The victim was rescued after a police control room van arrived on the spot after an onlooker finally made a call to the PCR on Wednesday morning.
