A 25-year-old youth from the North East allegedly committed suicide at his rented accommodation in south Delhi's Malviya Nagar area, following an argument with his girlfriend late on Saturday night.
Police said that the deceased, who was identified as Sanjay Serma, was a native of Dibrugarh and had come to Delhi in search of a job.
"He had been living with his girlfriend at their rented accommodation in Malviya Nagar for the past three months. On Saturday night when his girlfriend returned home, she found the door locked from inside and informed the landlord. After the door was broken open, Serma was found hanging from the ceiling," said a senior police officer.
Sanjay was reportedly depressed over not getting a job and his relationship with his live-in partner was also passing through a rough phase. His body was sent for autopsy and an investigation was launched after a case was registration at the Malviya Nagar police station, police said.
No suicide note was recovered from the spot, the officer said.
