Defence secretary RK Mathur readies for briefing

Defence secretary RK Mathur is expected to apprise PM designate Narendra Modi about the defence ministry in a couple of days.

Mathur is preparing a presentation for Modi on defence finance, defence production, research & development and welfare measures for ex-servicemen, according to a ministry official. Besides, issues pertaining to border safety and immediate threat at the Line of Control in the West and Line of Actual Control along the China border will also included in the briefing.

"Major thrust of the presentation is to apprise the prime minister of the internal health of the three services and the country's defence preparedness," said the officer.
