The Indian Military Academy (IMA) is conducting the 142nd Passing out Parade on December 7 in Dehradun. The passing out parade is being held on the special occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day which is celebrated to honour the soldiers, sailors and airmen of India.

Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is the reviewing officer at the event.

It is an event that is held twice a year by the Indian Military Academy (IMA) and this year around 306 candidates will be graduating from the academy. 71 cadets from foreign countries have also been trained.

Rajnath Singh reached the Indian Military Academy on Friday. He also addressed the cadets before their passing out parade.

"Today the country stands united. India`s stature at the global level has risen. In the eyes of the world, we are no more perceived as a weaker nation but they have realised that India is a strong country," Rajnath Singh said.

Earlier, speaking at the passing out parade of the 137th course at National Defence Academy (NDA) on November 30, Rajnath Singh said, "The biggest credit for our striking capacity against terrorism goes to Indian Armed Forces, CAPFs and Police forces who have foiled the ill-motives in the protracted war".

He also said that Pakistan was isolated on all global platforms for encouraging terrorism.

"The way Pakistan has been exposed and kept isolated on global platforms for its terrorism, the credit goes to the successful strategic approach by our Prime Minister," he said.

Today, on the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day, Rajnath Singh posted a tweet saying that people of the country should support families of India’s Ex-Servicemen.

He tweeted, "Today the Nation is observing the Armed Forces Flag Day to honor India’s bravehearts who sacrificed their lives while serving the country. We should support their families and do everything possible for their well-being and also for the welfare of India’s Ex-Servicemen."
