On Friday, Sai had informed the commission that he will appear before it for the cross examination as demanded by the parents of Dipesh and Abhishek. The bodies of both children had been found in the Sabarmati riverbed, a few metres away from the ashram.
The commission which was all set to issue warrant against the god man on Friday changed its mind after Sai’s undertaking that he will appear before the commission on Sunday. Sai’s counsel Chandrashekhar Gupta said, “Narayan Sai will appear before the commission on Sunday and cooperate during the cross examination.”
The DK Trivedi commission had issued summons to Asaram Bapu and his son Narayan Sai, who are running religious sects separately, following the requests of deceases kid’s parents. However, both avoided appearance on the pretext of one reason or another. Ultimately, justice (retired) Trivedi decided to issue warrant against them. The commission has also asked Asaram Bapu to remain present on December 1.
Young Dipesh and Abhishek had gone missing from the ashram on July 3, 2008. Two days later, their bodies were found outside the ashram.
