On Wednesday, both the Houses of state assembly could not transact business and were adjourned for fourth day over the Opposition's demand for a decision on the loan waiver for farmers.
Shiv Sena ministers called on Chief Minister Fadnavis at his official residence Varsha bungalow. Prior to this, Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray held a meeting with Sena ministers and directed them to meet Fadnavis.
All the four cabinet ministers, including Subhash Desai, Dr Deepal Savant, Ramdas Kadam and Diwakar Raote, met Fadnavis and expressed their concern over this issue. Raote later told media persons outside Varsha bungalow that the chief minister had assured them he would seek time from the prime minister in a day or two. Raote and Kadam said that unless there was a positive intervention by the prime minister in this regard, the Sena would not allow the state assembly to function.
Meanwhile, both the Houses of state assembly witnessed repeated adjournments before being adjourned for the entire day over this issue. Leaders of Opposition Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil and Dhananjay Munde told media persons that unless there was a decision taken on loan waiver for farmers, the Opposition would not allow both the Houses to transact any business.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Fadnavis said that his reply on loan waiver issue was ready and that he will probably give it in the state assembly on Thursday.
