Former solicitor general Gopal Subramaniam on Monday asked the state government to televise the inquiry proceedings while accepting the AAP government's assignment to conduct an inquiry into the alleged financial irregularities in DDCA.
Assuring the Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal of a 'clean' investigation, Subramaniam also accepted the terms of inquiry set up by the AAP government saying "the purpose of of inquiry is for the benefit of game as well as the restructuring of of the Delhi Cricket and District Cricket Association..."
"I accept the decision of the cabinet to appoint a commission of inquiry which would be chaired by me. I assure you that I am keeping a completely open mind and starting my work with clean slate," he said.

"I would like to make it clear that I have already promised a public inquiry. The same should be held at a suitable place. I offer it to be televised because I would like anybody in the world to watch how the Commission is proceeding to deal with this matter..... I don't see why a matter wich involves Cricket and in particular which has long term implications must not be dealt with the same fashion," Subramaniam said.
Earlier, the Delhi assembly at a special session passed a resolution to set up a commission of inquiry to probe the alleged irregularities in the working of the DDCA. Kejriwal also urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to sack Jaitley for his involvement in the matters of the city's cricketing association. Jaitley, who headed the DDCA for years, however, has rejected the allegations levelled against him.
