Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chairperson Swati Maliwal has written to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, seeking strict action in the alleged rape of a minor girl in Loni area of Ghaziabad district.

The DCW chairperson has also urged Adityanath to provide financial help to the girl's family.

She said she had visited the seven-year-old victim undergoing treatment at GTB Hospital here.

As per the letter, the girl hailing from Punjab had gone to attend a wedding reception, along with her family, on April 27 when the accused allegedly took her to an isolated location and raped her.

The family found the girl next day lying in a pool of blood, the letter reads.

Maliwal said that the 22-year-old accused in the case has been identified but not yet arrested.

The girl has undergone surgeries and is on ventilator.

Maliwal also demanded that the family of the girl be paid monetary compensation and her father be provided with a government job.
