Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Narayan Rane on Sunday announced the launch of a new party, days after he quit Congress. The new party will be called Maharashtra Swabhimaan Paksha. Rane had left the Congress on September 21 this year.
There are speculations that the 65-year-old Konkan strongman will support the BJP, especially after his meeting with Amit Shah last week.
Rane said his new party would be registered soon and the flag and electoral sign would also be announced.
The former chief minister had joined the Congress in 2005 after leaving the Shiv Sena. But Rane was miffed with the Congress for not making him Chief Minister and hence resigned.
