Dantewada: Goods train derailed, Naxal hands suspected

Eight coaches and engine of a goods train travelling through Dantewada in Chhattisgarh was derailed on Sunday morning. The incident happened between Bhansi and Kamalur area of the district. After the derailment, the coaches fell of a bridge.

Dantewada is a Naxal hot-bed where even recently 7 CRPF jawans were killed by the ultras. Hence, the police is looking at possible Naxal hand in this incident. Some sheets of papers have been recovered from the spot. Police are looking at them for possible clues. 

On June 6, police arrested five Naxals allegedly involved in blowing up of a police vehicle in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district in which seven personnel were killed last month.The cadres, active members of `Jan-militia' of Maoists, were arrested from Perpa-Pirnar village under Kirandul police station limits by local police, Dantewada Additional Superintendent of Police (anti-Naxal operations) Gorakhnath Baghel told PTI. The arrested Naxals were identified as Deva Kunjami, Kosa, Baman Kunjami, Bheema Netam and Baman Karma.
