The hosting of Republic Day’s state-level ceremony in Dangs is continuation of the government’s policy to hold important national celebrations at various places.

The chief minister had earlier announced that seven new districts and 22 talukas would come into existence in the state from the Republic Day. The state cabinet has given in-principle approval to the new districts and talukas, but it would take some more time before they formally come into existence.

Meanwhile, CM Modi dedicated or performed bhoomi-pujan of various projects entailing expenditure of Rs72 crore. He said that government is committed to developing Saputara as a tourist hub.
