Media vehicles were attacked by locals in Uttar Pradesh's Basera village in Dadri, where a Muslim man was killed and his son was attacked by a mob following rumours of 'beef' being consumed by his family. The locals have been attempting to stop politicians and the media alike to visit the region.

The deceased Mohammed Aqlakh's elder son Sartaj, who is an Air Force personnel, had appealed to politicians and the media to not disturb the family during their time of grief.

The two main accused in the Dadri lynching case Shivam and Vishal, were arrested on Saturday, raising the total of the number of accused in the case to eight. According to reports, Vishal is the son of local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) functionary Sanjay Rana.
Six people were arrested earlier after public outrage over the killing of a man by a mob in Uttar Pradesh's Dadri, allegedly over rumours that he had consumed beef.
