Newly-appointed chairman of Tata Sons, Cyrus Mistry, on Saturday lauded the state government and CM Narendra Modi saying they have created an enabling business environment in Gujarat. A thunderous applause resounded Mahatma Mandir auditorium as Mistry’s name was announced for speaking at the valedictory function of Vibrant Gujarat Summit 2013. This was the 44-year-old’s maiden public appearance since taking over mantle of Tata Sons from Ratan Tata.
“I would like to applaud the spirit of entrepreneurship of people of Gujarat and the spirit of the Gujarati diaspora. We have seen some remarkable progress and creation of value in Gujarat. It is important to recognise the infrastructure and enabling environment put in place by Gujarat Government,” said Mistry. “In Gujarat, we see a culture of implementation, reflecting qualities of the chief minister. Our commitment in Gujarat goes beyond industrialisation and investment,” he said further.
Mistry also said that he hopes to see continued certainty in policy implementation in the state under Narendra Modi. “Our focus is to create long-term value creation and in this effort, I believe, we will continue to get the support from the state and the chief minister as a true partner,” he added.
