Senior astrologer Tanmay Thaker gives DNA an idea of what the stars have to say about the country’s political developments ahead of Assembly elections in five Indian states. While most people have started speculating likely outcomes to next year’s Lok Sabha elections, Thaker said it’s very complicated to determine a nation-wide trend for 2019, since the voting schedule is yet to be announced. But political realignments are to be expected, he says, especially when it comes to the upcoming Assembly polls.

RAJASTHAN

Sachin Pilot’s stars are very strong currently. The Congress will grow in the state under his leadership. Strong planetary arrangements of Ashok Gehlot will also support him. On the contrary, Vasundhara Raje’s adverse planetary arrangements mean she will face stiff competition.

MADHYA PRADESH

The planetary positions of major leaders — Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Jyotiradiitya Scindia and Kamal Nath are all very strong, indicating a close contest. However, the advantage is with Chief Minister Chouhan. His chances of re-election are prominent.

TELANGANA

Telangana Rasthtriya Samiti leader and Chief Minister T Chandrashekhar Rao has the full backing of the stars, and it is very likely that he will stage a comeback. However, the victory margin is unlikely to be as one-sided and he may win with lesser seats this time.

CHHATTISGARH

Stars of Chief Minister Raman Singh are strong, and it is likely that he may bring back the BJP back to power. However, it’s ultimately the former Congress leader Ajit Jogi whose role in determining the overall outcome of the elections that will be critical.

PERSONALITIES

Rahul Gandhi

The  new year will witness a rise in fortunes for the scion of Gandhi  family, but the Congress party will fall short by a big margin and may fail to claim government. His elder sister Priyanka Gandhi is also unlikely to  provide a boost to the Congress party.

Narendra Modi-Amit Shah

Inspite of contrasting working styles, the duo will continue to be the most dominant political team in the country. PM Modi will have to face severe resistance, while Shah’s strategies may also boomerang until February 2019, but things will ease out afterwards.

Naveen Patnaik

Regional leaders and parties — BJD leader Naveen Pattnaik, DMK’s MK Stalin and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar — will hold all the aces in determining which of the two major parties, Congress or BJP, will come to power at the Centre in 2019.

BJP and Congress

The chart of the BJP indicates that the current mahadasha is not favourable until February 2019, but will get better after that. Congress will emerge stronger, but it is unlikely to be a prominent political force till July 2020, after which it may move in a definite direction.
