After busting a betting den on Thursday, Anandnagar police, on Friday, arrested one more bookie. According to police, Mitul Dhanji Patel, 40, was also involved in the cricket betting racket. He was arrested from his residence near Jivraj Mehta overbridge at Shyamal crossroads.
Police recovered more records of cricket betting racket being run from the city and spread across the state. On Thursday night during the India-West Indies match, police raided the residence of one Jitendra Tanna (32) and his father Jayanti Tanna (54), while they were taking calls from different parties to book their bets on the match result. Later, the mastermind behind the gambling den, one Rajni Patel, was also arrested.
