The CPI-M  on Wednesday said it will rectify on July 10 the differences in tactical line adopted in West Bengal against what was decided by the central committee of the party held earlier this month.

"Why there was no consonance? What is the rectification that needs to be done? That is something that the politburo along with the state leadership and the state committee will decide on July 10," CPI-M general secretary Sitaram Yechury told reporters when asked about the future of the Left-Congress alliance in the state. In the central committee meeting of the party, he said, three things had been decided- the first one being that in the backdrop of terror, the party's objective will be to build the broadest possible people's resistance.

The second point, he said, was the tactical line that was adopted in West Bengal was not in consonance with the understanding of the central committee. The third was that rectification needs to be done.
"The process has begun. If anything needs to be rectified it will be done," Yechury said. On reservations expressed by other Left parties in the Left Front against allying with the Congress, he said, let them discuss in the meeting and take a decision.
