The conspiracy for violence in Panchkula — which claimed the lives of 41 people on — was planned in the Sirsa Dera on August 17 in a meeting where Honeypreet was present, Haryana Police told the court in Panchkula, seeking maximum police remand of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim's allegedly adopted daughter.

Honeypreet and her accomplice, Sukhdeep Kaur were produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Panchkula, who sent them to to six days police remand. During this period, she will be probed further on how the conspiracy was planned and her role in inciting the violence that led to mayhem after Gurmeet Ram Rahim's conviction for rape on August 25.

As she stood with folded hands, repeating, "I'm innocent", Honeypreet's counsel, SK Garg Narwana, argued how she could not be part of the conspiracy as she was present inside the court while the verdict was announced and did not even have her cellphone.

The police countered this by telling the Court that the conspiracy was planned days before on August 17. Her counsels argued that as per the FIR, she was booked for the incident on August 25, and not August 17.

"A meeting was held in the Dera on August 17, after the judgement was reserved," said Commissioner of Police, Panchkula, A S Chawla. "We have ample evidence that Honeypreet was also present."

"And that she was privy to what conspired on August 25. It is through her interrogation, that we would make recoveries, including her cell-phone, and nab the other key accused in the case."

The disclosures were also made during interrogation of two other Dera chief aides – namely Rakesh, his personal assistant and security guard, Pritam – who were earlier arrested by the police. "They were witnesses to the meeting," said the police.

The police pressed for 14 days remand to recover Honeypreet's cell-phone and trace the location of other accused. She would also be taken to the hideout shelters in Bathinda, Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh to nab those who sheltered her. "She initially showed reluctance, but is co-operating in the investigation now," said IG Mamta Singh.

Police sources said her accomplice, Sukhdeep, a native of Bathinda has been with her since she absconded and they also took shelter in Chamba in Himachal Pradesh. The Innova car, in which the two travelled, has been possessed by the police.
