Couple found dead under mysterious circumstances in UP

A couple was found dead under mysterious circumstances on a railway track in Govindnagar area, police said on Tuesday. The deceased identified as Mamata (26) and Vicky (28) belonged to different communities and got married three years ago, police said.

According to police spokesperson, Mamata had gone to visit her grandmother in Govindnagar where Vicky came to pick her up. They had an argument over some issue following which the woman jumped in front of a train on Jhansi railway line here late Tuesday night. As Vicky tried to save her, the two were killed.

The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, police said adding that investigation is on to ascertain whether it was a case of suicide as the two belonged to different communities. Their family members are being interrogated, police said.
