Corporates, temple trusts contribute for Vishakhapatnam cyclone victims

Corporates and temple trusts of the East Godavari district have come forward to raise fund for rehabilitation work in the cyclone Hudhud-ravaged places of Visakhapatnam district.

East Godavari district collector Neetu Prasad said here today that corporates and temples trusts of the district have come forward and have contributed materials like food packets and drinking water for victims in Visakhapatnam district.

Bhimavaram MP Seetaramalakshi has contributed Rs 25 lakh and two months salary for the relief work. The TDP MP from (Bhimavaram) Seetaramalakshmi told PTI that she has contributed Rs 25 lakh and two-month salary for the victims and will extend all help in the relief work.

Seetaramalakshmi said that she had also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday, who was on a visit to Visakhapatnam to conduct an aerial survey of the flood affected areas.

Sarvaraya Sugar Ltd, Coca-cola Bottle unit, Vemagiri of Rajahmundry has handed over 5,000 food packets and 7,500 drinking water bottles to East Godavari district collector.

Vighneswara Swamy Devasthanam, Ainavalli have contributed food and water packets to the Amalapuram Revenue Division Officer.

Prasad said that it is commendable that companies have come forward to contribute under Corporate Social Responsibility to help in the rehabilitation work. She also appealed to various social organisations and other industrial units to extend support.

East Godavari-based KPR Industries Ltd on Wednesday visited Yelmanchili in Visakhapatnam district and distributed food packets, water bottles and other food items to over 5,000 families.
