The Delhi police on Friday continued its investigation into AIADMK leader TTV Dinakaran's alleged attempts to bribe Election Commission officials by issuing summons to three more people in Chennai, including his advocate Gopinath and a retired PWD official hailing from Mannargudi, the hometown of Sasikala and her clan.

After conducting raids at the residences and offices of Dinakaran and his aide Mallikarjuna on Thursday, the police team, led by Sanjay Sherawat, Assistant Commissioner of Police, visited Mohan's home in Adambakkam hours after the arrest of two hawala operators in New Delhi. Police had detained both Dinakaran and his aide at a guest house in Besant Nagar's Rajaji Bhavan.

The police questioned Mohan about his alleged involvement in the money trail from Chennai to Delhi, and issued him a summon to appear for further questioning in the national capital. The team then proceeded to the residence of Philip Daniel in Kolapakkam. Daniel, who works in a private telecom company, was not present at home. After handing over a summon to Daniel's mother, the police arrived at the home of Dinakaran's advocate Gopinath in Thiruverkadu.

Sources said that Delhi police had questioned Gopinath at the guest house on Thursday afternoon in the presence of both Dinakaran and his aide. On Friday afternoon, the police questioned Gopinath over his role in sealing the deal between Dinakaran and middleman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, who was arrested with Rs 1.30 crore.

On Thursday, the Delhi police questioned Dinkaran's wife Anuradha and her personal assistant Janardhanam over the money trail for close to three hours at his residence in Adyar. The police brought both Dinakaran and Mallikarjuna to Chennai after the Delhi court remanded both to five days of police custody on April 26. The police might take both the accused to Bengaluru and Kochi for further investigation on Saturday.

The AIADMK leader has been accused of allegedly arranging the amount from undisclosed sources and getting it transferred from Chennai to Delhi illegally.
