The accused in the rape case of a nine-year-old Russian girl in Goa — Aman Bharadwaj from Uttar Pradesh and Anil Kumar Raghuvanshi from Madhya Pradesh — have been arrested.
“Bharadwaj was arrested from Chembur in Mumbai on Friday evening,” north Goa superintendent of police Bosco George told DNA. Raghuvanshi was arrested from the Panaji bus stand.
Deputy inspector-general of police Ravindra Yadav said, “We called Raghuvanshi and convinced him to surrender.”

Bharadwaj and Raghuvanshi work for Intech, a pharma company in Pernem.

The girl was raped allegedly by Bharadwaj on Arambol beach on January 26.

Raghuvanshi engaged the victim’s mother in a conversation while Bharadwaj raped the minor.

Meanwhile, All India Congress Committee general secretary BK Hariprasad said, “There is a systematic campaign to malign Goa’s image. Even a small thing becomes international news.”
He added, “The Russian girl rape case is an isolated incident and has been blown out of proportion.”
