The Delhi Police On Sunday arrested three people in connection with a case where an Indian Air Force (IAF) Corporal was thrashed and robbed by three men on Friday. The incident occurred after his motor-cycle brushed past their car in south-east Delhi's Sangam Vihar area.

According to the police, IAF Corporal Sujay Kumar Sikandar was riding his motorcycle, along with his colleague, when the incident took place. In his complaint, Sujay stated that while he was travelling near the Mehrauli-Badarpur road, close to Batra hospital, his motorcycle touched a Maruti Swift car. After a few minutes, the car overtook them and stopped. Two men came out of the car and started thrashing his colleague.

Sikandar said that as he tried to save his colleague, a Santro car came up from behind and another person got out of the car. The three men then beat up by the corporal and his friend. Later on the accused took his identity card and registration certificate of the motorcycle and fled.

Video footage of the incident, shot by a passer-by, confirms Sikandar's claim. It showed the accused men abusing, slapping and thrashing the officer. The video footage, which went viral, also shows onlookers trying to intervene but they were threatened and abused.

Following Sikandar's complaint, a case under Section 392 (Punishment for robbery), 279 (Rash driving or riding on a public way) and 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) was registered at the Sangam Vihar Police Station. The accused have been identified as Nitin Gupta, Isa and Neeraj. The Delhi Police have recovered the robbed items and seized the two cars used in the commission of the crime.

"Gupta is a supplier of Amul Milk in Malviya Nagar, Isa works as a storekeeper at Levas Hotel and Neeraj is a bouncer at RPM Club in Vasant Vihar. Further investigations are underway," said Romil Baaniya, Deputy Commissioner of Police, South-East.
