Congress on Wednesday demanded a CBI probe into the death of Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav's son, Shailesh Yadav in Lucknow.

Shailesh, who was named as an accused in the multi-crore Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (MPPEB) known as Vyapam scam, was found dead at his father's official residence in Lucknow.

"We demand a CBI probe into the mysterious death of Shailesh Yadav as his name had figured in the Vyapam scam," Leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly Satyadev Katare said.

The Congress leader was talking to reporters outside the Vidhan Sabha complex here, where the partymen are holding an indefinite protest on the issue of farmers hit by untimely rains and hailstorms.

Lucknow Police has said that the exact cause of Shailesh's death could not be ascertained immediately.

Governor Ram Naresh Yadav has been admitted to Bansal Hospital here for the last few days as he has been suffering from acute respiratory problems, hospital sources said.

The Governor himself is an accused in the multi-layered Vyapam scam and the Special Task Force that was probing the scam had recently filed an FIR against him in this regard.

Yadav had filed a petition in the high court challenging filing of an FIR against him on the ground that he enjoys immunity as Governor of the state.
